How to Powerwash older Lenovo (N42) Chromebooks

Powerwash Older Chromebooks

If the steps above did not work for you, you may be running an older version of Chrome OS. No big deal, you can still Powerwash your Chromebook by following the steps below.

  1. Boot up the Chromebook
  2. Press Esc + Reload + Power
  3. The Chromebook will reboot and show the following screen. If not try the keystrokes again.
  4. Press Ctrl + D
  5. The Chromebook will then show the following message:
    “To turn OS verification off, press Enter…”
  6. Press Enter
  7. The Chromebook will reboot to a screen saying OS Verification is turned off.
  8. Press the Space Bar
  9. Press Enter
  10. The Chromebook will show the following screen and reboot.

    1. At this point the Chromebook will factory reset and boot back up in Verified (Normal) mode.
    2. When the Chromebook boots back up, choose the proper wireless network to connect to (FCPS Managed). In our domain, we force re-enrollment after a reset.
    3. Click Continue
  11. Walk through the remaining prompts in order to complete the setup.
